Manufacturing 4.0 overarching strategy at the American Premium Gloves is all about connectivity and efficiencies, where the manufacturing machinery is far from operating in a silo. A number of Industry 4.0 equipment, functionality and processes are integrated and interconnected towards achieving a smart factory, including,
• Auto counting functionality
• Robotic ARMS for picking, packing and sorting gloves
• The equipment is connected to the front-end production line, and automatically completes the actions of unpacking, packing, sealing, and exporting cartons.
A PLC microcomputer with a user interface automatically displays performance parameters such as speed, quantity, and cause of failure. Multiple specifications can be configured.
The counting and stacking machines complete 4-6 packages per minute or (400-600 pieces of gloves) simultaneously, significantly boosting productivity. The nitrile glove manufacturing production line produces 12,500 gloves per hour.
Factories without these autonomous functionalities employ approximately 8-10 manual pickers and packers. American Premium Gloves will employ the same number of employees and will invest in the creation of more advanced job opportunities through education and on the job training opportunities.
